Weekend Travels

Small beds in bunkers (held like 5-6 people)

This weekend was fun. We was in Krakow. Friday, we went to Auschwitz and Birkenau. These concentration camps were very eye opening to see were the Germans killed so many people. We saw the bunkers were the prisoners were keep, the building were experiments were done on prisoners, and the gas chambers/crematoriums. The bunkers were very uncomfortable just standing in them, and the Germans keep way to many prisoners in each one. There were many different experiments done on prisoners, like making prisoners infertile. The gas chamber and crematorium at Auschwitz was the only one left at these two concentration camps. The Birkenau gas chambers and crematoriums were destroyed by the Germans before the Russian invaded the camp. It was sad going inside the gas chambers and the crematorium knowing how many people that were killed and burned in there.

The rest of the weekend we all just hung out and walked all around Krakow. We went out to eat with some of the faculty and students from the Krakow University. Sunday, we spent seven hours on a train back to Bydgoszcz.
